Anthurium Papillilaminum Ree Gardens

Anthurium papillilaminum 'Ree Gardens' is a special clone of Anthurium papillilaminum , whose origin lies in the renowned Ree Gardens nursery founded by Marie and Steve Nock in 1976 and closed in 2023.
The original origin is Panama. From the phenotype it can be seen that it is a plant of the canal ecotype. Some US growers claim that it is the same plant that Jay Vannini calls Anthurium papillilaminum 'Fort Sherman'. More details are unknown.

In contrast to other specimens of the species, it is characterized by a very narrow leaf shape, an open sinus and a very velvety, dark green leaf surface. In addition, the petioles and undersides of the leaves are streaked with reddish-purple.

The Ree Gardens clone has often been propagated both as a clone through cuttings and through seeds, as Marie Knock explains in the video from Summer Rayne Oakes 2023.

A close relative of the Ree Garden clone with reference to the above-mentioned Marie Nock was recently made known by the Swedish breeder Robin Deniz. The name of this clone: Anthurium papillilaminum 'Marie'. The degree of relationship is currently unknown. Robin himself speculates, among others, that this could be a selfing of the Ree Garden clone.
