Anthurium Red Crystallinum Zara

First of all: Anthurium 'Red Crystallinum' is not a species, but a complex hybrid or cultivar and is now officially accepted and registered as such.

The official story of how the 'Zara' came into being is easily told.
Dr. Jeffrey Block aka Doc Block got a Anthurium 'Wonderboy' clone from Tim Anderson and used this plant to develop his own 'Red Crystallinum' cultivars, including the Anthurium Anthurium 'Red Crystallinum', which he called 'Zara'.

During the research for this entry, however, we were given various variants and variations of this story and assumptions about the origins and origins of the Anthurium 'Zara'. Also the version in which the Anthurium 'Zara' does not come from Block at all, but from another nursery that named this plant after his daughter as a memento to Tim Anderson.

Doc Block has officially registered his variant of Anthurium 'Red Crystallinum Zara' and states that it is a hybrid of Anthurium magnificum (seed) and an unknown Anthurium crystallinum (pollen): https://www.aroidcultivars. org/aroid-cultivars/anthurium/zara

In addition to the Anthurium 'Red Crystalinum' line from Dr. Block, other breeding lines should also be mentioned here.
