The term "community pot" refers to a method of sowing in which freshly harvested anthurium seeds are sown in a common container filled with a suitable germination substrate, such as sphagnum moss or tree fern fibers. This procedure enables simultaneous germination of several seeds under controlled conditions.
After successful germination and the emergence of the first leaves, the seedlings are usually separated (pricked out) by breeders and transferred to separate pots to ensure optimal development and undisturbed further growth.
