"Open pollinated" is sometimes indicated in the anthurium scene for seedlings and refers to a type of pollination in which seeds are formed by natural pollination. This can be done by wind, insects, birds or other natural processes.
For example, if your seedling has a "Name x" listed, such as "A. forgetii x", the pollen parent is usually unknown.
The opposite of "open pollination" is targeted "hybridization" (F1 hybrids), in which two different parent plants are crossed to achieve special characteristics.
